The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) is the national housing and regeneration agency for England. They were formed on 1 December 2008 along with the Tenant Services Authority (the regulatory body for Registered Social Landlords).
The Homes and Communities Agency is a non-departmental public body and their sponsored government department is Communities and Local Government (CLG).
Our role is to create opportunity for people to live in high quality, sustainable places. We provide funding for affordable housing, bring land back into productive use and improve quality of life by raising standards for the physical and social environment.
